I have just melted

That's it ! I have finally melted now. All you will find of me is a puddle where I used to be.

I was just about managing until I put the oven on to bake some dog biscuits, now there are only my hands lift to type with.

How are you coping with this heat? Does it bother you much, or do you love it?
It isn't even cooling down at night.
I've had enough.

What to you do to try and stay cool, any tips?

Re: I have just melted

I still do what we did in Africa.
Open windows and curtains on the shady side of the house, close windows and curtains on the sunny side. It's working so far, together with two electric fans!
I had two naps today and will only go into the garden after sunset.
Floyd is sleeping all day, so are Gypsy (indoors) and Paolo (outside under shrubs).
I need to go shopping but, I'll try to get up extra early tomorrow and get out before it gets too hot.

Re: I have just melted

I might moan Im melting but I love it. I should have been born in a warm country. Lived for 5 yrs in Aden as a kid yet we ran around with no clothes or shoes on when home from school , we never used sun protection , we burned yet never got sick .

Loving it , but I'm melting

I have lived in the tropics mos t of my life my children were born there and ran around barefoot on the burning hot ground with apparently no ill effects .
Couldn't keep shoes on them .
They were like Mowgli.

Hi

The only way to cool down is to go naked.

Please post photos Mups.

Re: I have just melted

I can cope with the heat and if I find it too hot I switch on one of my electric fans.
What I hate is the warm humid nights, where it is just as warm outside as it is inside... and I daren't leave the fans on overnight.
I have visited many hot countries and the dry heat doesn't worry me.... but the humidity is awful in Britain.

Re: I have just melted

It's the nights I hate too. I'm seriously considering getting air con in my bungalow when I move in next month. One of my sons had it installed a few years ago and I thought what a waste of money in England but how wrong I was. Our summers are certainly warming up.

Re: I have just melted

Been out for a 6 mile run this morning with efforts (sprinting). In another hour and a half I will be off for another 4-5 mile easy.

Win, win when the weather is like this. Even your clothes dry quickly. And a cold glass of cider really hits home .
