Postcode Lottery

Does anybody do this?

They keep sending me advertising blah to get me to join, but I don't really understand how it works.

Does anybody do this, and have you ever won anything?
How does it work?
When is the draw, is it weekly, and how to you check your entry?

This latest letter come says to register your postcode today, but doesn't even tell you how!

Perhaps if they spent less money advertising it on TV, and a little more money on telling what it is all about and how it works.... they may get a few more to take part!

That's probably true Twink. I can't make head nor tail of it other than they want £10 quid a month!

Re: Postcode Lottery

What I want to know is, if two neighbours enter and win with the same postcode, is the prize shared between them?

.............

I did hear recently of an acquaintance who won £25,000.

Re: Postcode Lottery

You see, these are the sort of questions I don't know.

Even on their website I don't think it explains things very well at all.

I even did the 'Live Chat' with someone online, but all she said was there are 10 draws per month, drawn in advance (?) and the winners are notified daily.

It didn't make any sense to me.
If there are 10 draws a month, does that mean 2 or 3 per week? If so, how come people are notified every day?

You also have to sign up to some sort of payment scheme, because I wondered how you stopped it again if you wanted out.

It says on the letter they sent to me today:

Monday - Friday - Each player in 5 lucky postcodes wins £1,000.

Saturday & Sunday - Every player in the winning postcode wins £30,000, and players in over 20,000 postcodes each win prizes from £10 - £100.

On their website it also says 30 pence in every pound goes to charities - BUT it cost 40p for the lottery admin!

Think I'll give it a miss.

Re: Postcode Lottery

I looked into it but didn't want to commit to that tenner a month. Sometimes I see a post on FB whereby a local postcode has won and encouraging people in that area to check.

I don't even play Lotto anymore. It got too expensive for one ticket, and the odds were reduced.
