Cycle to work.

I've jusr read today is ....
National Cycle to work day !!!

https://www.cycletoworkday.org/

Wouldn't you think the organises of that choose a day in the middle of the Summer when the weather may have been better.
I bought myself a new bike ages ago, and it's just sitting here. I did try to ride it but i was wobbling like a 5yr old, it's that long since i'ne been on a bike. But a couple of times i've pushed it to the park and had a go there.

Well this is one I'm going to give a miss to. I've got to take my Henry in tonight I can't see that working if I had to use a bike. Not that I have one, my balance is shocking I'd be off more than on it !

I haven't even got a bike.
But I do think it is a good idea.
There are so many in Amsterdam.

Re: Cycle to work.

Whilst I only work 3 miles from home, I won't cycle to work as its county lanes with no lights and I really don't fancy landing in a ditch every time a car or tractor wants by

Good grief.. Ive just given DD a lift because the storm is raging, traffic signs have come off their fixings, trees are down, and the rain is awful..

Mind you there are still people out on cycles here.

My sister and partner who live in Brighton cycle everywhere, this despite owning four cars, one a new Jaguar. They object to paying parking fees.

I've been looking on ebay at these indoor cycle trainers, they lift your back wheel a couple of inches, then you can ride on sorts of rollers. I think it may be better than an exercise bike. But .......... Do they work ? Does anyone know ? There are loads of them on ebay.

Thanks Eliza, some of them on ebay start at about 30 but then go up to over 100. And they all look the more-or-less the same.
