I do love a good thunderstorm

Well when I'm safely inside anyway!
We are in the middle of a big one right now

Are you a lover or a hater of storms?

I like them if I can watch when I am safely inside. We had storms most of last night and the odd one today.

We had a short one which started as we were on a walk. Got back before the rain got heavier, but it has passed.

I love them. Stood at my bedroom window last night watching the lightning and the dog crawled over the duvet towards me, wondering what I was doing.

I don't mind a thunderstorm if the thunder is in the distance but hate it when it is overhead and so loud I worry that we will have a lightning strike.

Love them. Had a belter last night. Continuous thunder and lightning. I actually got up and watched it out of the kitchen window.

I am not usually bothered by them, but when you have to comfort 5 terrified cats, it does become hard work.

Is it a good thing to unplug things like TVs etc , I was always told is safer to do so . I don't have an Ariel on my roof just a sky dish , yet always take the plugs out . Someone please put me right . I get worried about lightening strikes too , yet love a storm

I like them and watch day or night. We've not had one for a long time though.

Re: I do love a good thunderstorm

Best to unplug a TV?

I never bother even though once during a lightning strike there was a crackling and a flash squiggled across my TV (it was off but plugged in) and then a squiggly flash travelled straight up the middle of the room.
Thank god I was sitting on the sofa out of harms way and only smelt my facial hair singe.

Anyone else notice you can smell sulphur , like struck matches, just before a storm kicks off ? And my arms prickle and my hair stands up a bit.

Had a huge thunderstorm this afternoon while watching the F1 race with hubby and the satellite signal was lost!
