I am 73 years old, currently very fit. My constant companion is a 12-yr-old collie cross who is still very active. We walk several hours a day, whatever the weather. For the past 13 years I have lived on a small narrowboat on a canal. In a normal week I get in three one-hour sessions at the swimming pool. An important part of my life is making a project of seeing how well I can cope with advancing age. I have been a vegetarian for several years. I eat out quite a lot because I'm a poor cook. To keep my mental faculties operational, I do a lot of sudoku and cryptic crossword solving, and so far the plan is working well. I'm not a church- or chapel-goer, but I am an avid reader of books on spiritual matters.

My Interests

Swimming, cycling, canoeing (I have canadian canoe, kayak, and dinghy), reading (mainly books on spiritual matters), internet, radio (mainly Radio 4), and walking my dog, Champ, of course.
