My husband and I, as well as our oldest son and his family, live in Sitka, Alaska. Sitka is the MOST beautiful city in the world, and is located on an Baranof Island in the SE Alaska area, well known for the very best in Salmon and Halibut fishing. We live at and manage a 4 bedroom, 4 bath vacation rental on the waterfront, called Sharon's Cabin. www.sitkacabin.com. It's located straight across from Mt. Edgecumbe Volcano, with a wonderful view and frequent wildlife visitors, including many many eagles, sometimes otter, often sea lions and the occasion whale and harbor dolphin. Oh, and in the winter, we are often visited by a family of martin, a small ferret-like animal. I am also a graphic designer, marketer, writer, vacation rental manager and a grandmother. A few other things, too, if I took time to think about it... I've been alive a loooong time, so have lived a varied life. Originally from Lake City, Florida, which is at the very top, almost Georgia, in the middle. Lived there until 1976 when we moved to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. While there we learned to dive and took many classes related to diving, making instructor within a year. Continued to teach diving there until 1984 when we returned to Florida and managed a diving instruction and retail center until '87 when we went back to Saudi then diving brought us to Alaska in '89. And that's the rest of the story... smile. Almost. I got very involved with underwater photography and writing which lead me in a new direction in Alaska.

My Interests

I love walking in the forest of SE Alaska; the lichens, mosses and ferns. I love the rain in SE Alaska and mist that clings to our mountains and islands. I love Alaska. I enjoy traveling with my husband and our rat dog, Pewee. We also have 7 grandchildren, which I love visiting and spending time with.
