I am a Scot who came south for my first job back in 1980 and have stayed south ever since – though a slight move north from Hampshire to Berkshire – but travel up to Scotland a couple of times a year. I live alone, and when I have time like to tackle the odd project in my house and garden. The first project for 2013 is to turn the “study” (no-one has ever studied in it) from the room I throw all the junk into and hastily close the door to a room of some sort!
I have a busy job managing a lovely bunch of researchers who are all 20+ years younger than me. I love my job, but realise that I need to get more of a life outside work. Several friends have moved away over the years and now my lovely 25 year old daughter is emigrating to New Zealand, so there is a void to fill.
My Interests
I started learning Italian a few months ago, and so will be arranging a holiday as soon as I can hold some sort of conversation.
I enjoy gardening, but only when it's sunny!
