As RS has said, it depends on the rating. Our floor standing fan is rated at 35W. Over 24 hours it would consume less than 1 kWh which is a unit of electrical energy. That's the units your bill is based on. Our electric kettle is 2,000W.
That's domestic. Industrial fans can be very much larger. The largest we made the electrical controls for was 2,250,000 W. A bit of a beast.
