Theresa Has Won !
Theresa May has got what she wanted, by colluding with various players from all sides. at strategic times. It became evident when her deal was voted down for the second time, and she then gave a speech to the hoc,she appeared to me to be quite relaxed and even satisfied with what had happened, not at all like somebody that had just suffered a humiliating defeat, she even spoke to Hammond in a jocular manner with satisfied smile on her face,l admit her face was haggard and worn, understandably, but there was a gleam of satisfaction and relief in her eyes .She had at that point realised everything was coming together for her piano, she had managed to use all the opposing factions to cancel each other out,she even explained this to the house in her speech. How did she manage to manipulate the entire parliament by herself? Not possible! She must have had assistance.Who did she get to aid her?A./EU commission just before chequers.B/John Bercow,at various times when choosing motions to discuss and now,C/The DUP next week!
There is still a little tidying up to do,but everything is in place to deliver one of two options, her deal or no deal. Both these options are on the remain side of the argument which suits her ideas of brexit.l don't think she started out with a plan as such but began by frustrating the efforts of a series of Brexit misters, and finally taking control of the process completely, herself.Meanwhile she watched ensuing events in the hoc as different factions formed and rifts appeared on both sides of the house, and even in her own cabinet.By then her plan began to formulate and she took a trip to Brussels and found out what they would require for a soft Brexit deal, which she signed there and then without any parliamentary consultation, which she then brought back to chequers and forced it through against much opposition causing some high profile resignations,By then confusion in the hoc was mounting and her plan had taken shape, and she had further talks with Junker where she laid out her plan in which he would cooperate by making statements and threats at crucial moments. She then co-pted Bercow to assist her in the house.
The rest is history. We are now left with a situation where the erg are isolated and helpless surrounded by an almost entirely remainer hoc,so no deal is almost impossible,so leavers have two options left, her deal or no Brexit.Remainers have the same two options ,her deal or no Brexit, they would prefer no Brexit but could accept her deal as it is a soft Brexit and the other option would probably cause much civil unrest.so there we are she only has to deal with the backstop issue and the cup, which l think she already has tacit approval for from both the EU and dup,.Fait accompli! The only thing now that could put the cat amongst the pidgeons is for a veto of the vote for an extension of article 50,which l don't think is likely as Junker will squeeze the testicles of any prospective vetoists. So it looks like we are stuck with her deal, she has out manouvered everybody! I believe she could only have achieved this and withstood all the effort and stress she endured because she really and truly believes in her views and is doing it for the good of the country. That she is wrong has never entered her head!
Still in despair.Donkeyman.
