Well that's it, the Esky is loaded with beer so on Sunday I head off for Darwin via Mt Isa (Qld) spending a few days in Kakadu National Park before arriving in Darwin.

Will spend a few days in and around Darwin before making my way back.
The return leg is via Alice Springs, the old mission at Hermannsburg and Kings Canyon then back to the highway before going south to the Oodnadatta track (630km of dirt road)
You can see the route to the canyon here

The route from Hermannsburg is through aboriginal land so I have to get a permit to travel in the Alice.
Will only go on this route and the Oodnadatta track if it is dry (it should be).

Sorry it is not formatted very well. I reckon I will use just over 800lt of fuel. You have to be bit careful because there can be several hundred kms between fuel stations - I will carry about 20litres of diesel in a jerry can just in case. Oh... and 20 litre of water too
I hope to put up some pics as I travel. It will take me about a month but if I find it very interesting it could take 6 weeks. On the other hand if my back plays up I could be back in a week!
Will keep you posted.
