Poachers

Did anyone see the awful story of the huge, magnificent red Stag that has been shot by poachers in the New Forest? He was known locally as "The Monarch" because of his regal stature.
This 8ft animal did not even die quickly because he tried to swim across a lake to safety but was so badly wounded, he couldn't make it and drowned.
So - this beautiful animal died unnecessarily and the piggin' greedy poachers never got what they wanted either i.e. his head on a wall plaque. I wish their heads were on wall plaques instead.
What a terrible, sad waste of a life.

Re: Poachers

Absolutely terrible we have a local problem with badgers being targeted some lovely people now sit watch to keep the sett safe. Awful people do these things and penalties are simply not enough.

I agree with you Julie. I feel the same about the elephant poachers too.
I can't understand why some people aren't in awe when they come across these majestic creatures, why they are unable to appreciate the scene in front of them and feel priviledged to witness such things.
The greedy, murdering buggers make my blood boil.

Re: Poachers

A dreadful story. Re elephant poaching, or any other poaching for that matter, in Kenya if poachers are caught the policy is shoot to kill if they try to run. The agony they cause to animals is horrendous. As for people who want to kill for sport and trophies, well I simply have no understanding of such people, they are not poaching for survival just blood lust and one upmanship. A pity the animals and birds they hunt so mercilessly are not armed with guns too.

Is that right Mups, to be used as a wall plaque !!
I thought this stupid 'toff' mentality ended years ago !
I'm stunned and upset, if I could, I'd become a poacher of 'them' !

Love it on a full moon in the winter to go out and poach a few rabbits.
