So much for democracy!!!(changes without parliamentary debate )

The 'nasty party' proclaim they're all for democracy, but when it comes to their agenda, they're not prepared to debate the proposed legislation in the 'house' properly but have to sneakily use 'statutory instruments'.

Hi

We used to get loads of Statutory Instruments at work, but they were for minor, mundane things, like changes to sampling techniques, air pollution etc.

They were of no interest to any one else but specialists, which is what Statutory Instruments were designed for.

If they are using them for major changes, then I agree that is wrong.

Then it was all of the treachery by NATO and I could see that my premonition was well-founded. Now we are in the Bush, Blair, and Putin era and despite Putin's slyness he's more often right than he is wrong. Anyway, I do not mean to say that the day has come about that Russian is top democratic gun, but ……. I really do think that day will come.

Sorry that I ran off on such a tangent. I'll go have a lie-down now.

I'm quite worried about this individual voting registration. It wasn't announced properly and there was a date by which you had to do it. I know for a fact that lots of students didn't know about it.
Why a certain date? Surely if you move house etc.you can register at any time so folk should be allowed to register when they become aware of it.
