Eye surgery

My son in law Nick had his eyes 'done' last weekend. He paid £6,000 through Optical Express and the operation has been 100% successful. He can now throw away his glasses - he can see the smallest print.

This wasn't the usual zap with a laser - it was total lens replacement.

All done in a few hours and he went for a beer afterwards.

I just think it's so fantastic what they can do nowadays. I'm even tempted to see about it myself.

Re: Eye surgery

That is good to hear Carol
I have heard about mixed results from Optical Express and am not sure I would be brave enough to have that particular kind of procedure.

Re: Eye surgery

That is really good news Carol, I can't remember when I didn't have to wear glasses. Does he have to go back anytime for checkups?

Wish they could do something about my eyes but they can't

Doesn't it take some time before you can be certain it's been 100% successful? There have been a lot of problems with certain type of lenses such as the M Plus X lens, Do you know if he got the chance to choose a specific lens or do you just get what you are given?

Re: Eye surgery

That's great news carol, I have heard some bad stories so it's nice to hear about a success.

That's great news Carol.

I had cataracts removed from both eyes a few months ago and now I can also see without my glasses. I am even driving the car without them and have had no problems.

He's been going every day for a check up and has a final one on Friday. I don't know if he will have to go for any more after that.

I don't know about the lenses but I do know it was successful because he can read small print - he isn't in any discomfort and his eyes look perfectly normal.
