showers versus baths ???

A remark by a television interviewer this morning got me thinking about the pros and cons of showers v baths, now the only time I have a bath is when on holiday,(not having a bath just a wet room with a shower) I have a 15 min shower every morning, finding it quicker than a wash, but it seems the bathing fraternity uses over the length of a week (usually 2 or 3 a week ) less water, so less energy than a 15 minute shower daily, so let us have your views on this, and the reason for my wet room is, my wife was severely disabled for much of our married life, so couldnt use a bath, so hence the shower

I have a bath but never use it and like you have a daily shower each morning. Quick and easy and when I move I will willingly just have a shower room.

I could never go without my bath, I have epsom salts baths for arthritis which help with the stiffness, I do like a quick shower in the morning but I don't think you can beat a bath for the old aches and pains

Re: showers versus baths ???

I usually take the shower, but I do like to take a bath every two weeks or so just for the relaxation of it. One thing I always do though when I'm having a bath is to leave the bathroom door unlocked, this is a throw back from when I was in my teens, I fell asleep in the bath and nearly drowned, lucky enough my Father wanted to use the toilet and when he got no reply to his calls he had to break in the door!, one can over-relax. That's a true story.

Wouldn't want to live without my bath. I love a relaxing wallow a couple of times a week.Shower is fine for a quick wash, but for me it can't beat being immersed in warm water.

Re: showers versus baths ???

I like both, for different reasons. A shower is good for a quick all-over wash, including hairwash, in the morning or anytime of day, but if I want to pamper myself at the end of a tiring day I like a soak in a bath with bubbles/oils. The bath is also where I look after my feet and do my legs (is this too much information ). I think a bath is more is decadent and relaxing. To get out of a warm fragranced bath, put the body cream on all over and then get into a comfy bed at night is one of the nicest ways to relax, I think.

Re: showers versus baths ???

We have a shower over the bath which my husband uses but I love my daily bath in the mornings and to lay back in the bubbles for just five minutes of me time. I would think that I use more water than him because I wash my hair in there using the shower attachment. He is bald and is in and out of the shower in no time. Although I should care about the amount of water I use, I don't.

I much prefer a bath, far more relaxing, added fragrances help to relieve any stresses and strains of the day ...... heaven!

I prefer a shower except if I have aches and pains then I love a long hot soak.
She who must be obeyed prefers baths and like Mags adds everything under the sun.
