EHIC Awareness
As a fervent "Leaver" I have no wish for this post to be regarded as scare-mongering. Rather, as a note of caution for those intending to go abroad after 31 October .....
As part of my credit card deal, I do have annual travel insurance, However I know of friends who rely solely on their E111 cards when travelling to Europe. Please therefore note the following:

If the UK leaves with no deal, your EHIC will no longer be valid.
In February 2019, the UK government issued detailed advice on health care when travelling abroad.
If there is no deal, the advice for those travelling to EU countries as well as Switzerland, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein, is to buy travel insurance to cover health care "just as you would if visiting a non-EU country.
