Re: Dubrovnik
How lovely for you Al!Re: Dubrovnik
Oh Dubrovnik! Gorgeous! I only spent one day there on my one and only cruise with my sister, in 1974. It was an absolute joy of apricot coloured stone, beautiful, smiling people, turqoise sea, the best mussels I have ever tasted. Approaching it by sea was like sailing through an old Hollywood film of the Heroes, or Ulysses: impossibly beautiful towering cliffs, technicolour rocks, sea and sky.Re: Dubrovnik
I loved Croatia especially a small village as it was then Seget Donja, I bet it has grown massively since then as it was back in the 70s. Seget was just north of Trogir and Split. We travelled down to Dubrovnik and spent a day wandering around the ancient city. Very gray walls and buildings but quite beautiful and open markets in the squares. Never got to see the new Dubrovnik as we had to get back to our camp site in Seget. Trogir had a brilliant market and lovely waterfront but Split was a typical large city.Re: Dubrovnik
No question - you MUST walk the walls! It's pretty hot up there, but the views are beyond glorious. We've done it twice now, and it took us about two hours each time.Re: Dubrovnik
You will love it! Catch a boat over to Cavtat which is just a little further down the coast. You can also catch a bus if you prefer. It's about 15 mins by road and slightly longer on boat.Re: Dubrovnik
