I have always managed to grow rhoddies in containers. We don’t have acid soil here so I couldn’t grow them in the ground.
To be honest I just try things for myself to see if they work.
I use ericaseous compost in the containers. Give them a feed occasionally with rhoddie feed.
Then each year I remove about 1 to 2 inches of compost and replace with fresh.
My rhoddies are a good few years old now so they do survive in containers
Give it a go and enjoy the results
Same here, Chillie, and the same with Camellias.
I have one Rhodie been in a tub for nearly 21 years.
I just change the top couple of inches of ericacious each spring, and feed it, and only ever use rain water for watering. Oh, and keep out of early morning sun in winter as it damges any frosted buds.
Yours look lovely, so many blooms and bright colours.
Blasted Vine Weevals got my purple one this year.
