Re: In 2008
I am surrounded by independent butchers (7 that I can think of in three miles ) including an organic butcher and the farm shop which I use which rears its own pork in the orchards.Re: In 2008
That's the problem when large chain supermarkets or "Big Box" stores move into a neighborhood. They drive all the small mom and pop businesses out. Small businesses simply cannot compete with prices and variety. Here we have a large chain called Walmart. It is owned by the Walton family. The five Walton siblings combined wealth is more than the bottom 30% of Americans COMBINED!.. YET they pay so poorly that their employees qualify for government assistance. Just how much money does one need? You cannot spend it all.. not in a lifetime.. YET there is a need to make more and more profit, while the employees struggle with poor wages and no healthcare.Re: In 2008
Lets face it meat from a local butcher can be pretty expensive and when you can shop so very easily from the likes of Tesco's online (like I do) then it is a no brainer. A new butcher started up not so long ago in my village with a cracking looking shop but didn't last long. Price is so very important now, well it sure is with me anyway.Re: In 2008
