Curved TV's

I see curved screen TV’s advertised regularly these days, has anyone got one and if so would you recommend one?
I remember Cinerama being introduced to Cinema’s in the late 1950’s, three projectors beamed down on a huge curved screen, that was in the days when Films were trying to win back audiences from the increasing popularity of TV, strange how things work out aint it.

Oh Jem - I'm fed up with it all, for a normal sized lounge who wants an enormous screen, curved or not. All we want is a good picture and sound

Re: Curved TV's

I was looking at one a few days ago in an electrical retail shop here, it looked very nice and we do have a very large lounge, but, at over 2000 euros (at least the one I saw was) it´s a very prohibitive price so no we won´t be having one in the near future.

Looks very smart, but I'd need a lottery win to have one

I wont be getting one, If you try to keep up with new technology you will be buying new every few months, I will only get a new one when the one I have now breaks down.

My tv is mostly on for background noise! I think it may be difficult to watch if you have to sit in certain areas of the room, at different angles. My daughter gave me her old back lit telly, could only watch it from a front view otherwise the screen looked black!

Re: Curved TV's

TV's have gone down a lot in price compared to what they used to be, I remember buying our first coloured TV back in the early 1980's a 21", it cost £950, that's pounds we hadn't got euros then. The 40" we have now only cost 260 euros cash or thereabouts, well below 300 euros.

It doesn't mater how modern or large your television is, you will still get the same old rubbish on it.

Just for a change there's some good stuff on lately! "The Strain", "The Knick", "Grantchester", "The Great Fire", "Intruders", "The Leftovers" "American Horror Story" etc. Plus old gems like "Third Rock from the Sun" pity they don't spread them out over the year! Could be worth buying a good telly then!
