I haven't been to Bristol Zoo for donkeys years - would like to go again one day to see how it's all changed

Thanks Azz - you should try to get there one day, it's nothing like it used to be, they have only a very few big animals now and the ones that remain are part of their conservation programme.

There are plenty of smaller interesting species to see though and the botanical gardens are beautiful.

What a great day you had Mags
It's great that zoos are changing and that you don't now see sad looking specimens in pokey enclosures or cages
I think some of the tiny inmates are great - leaf-cutter ants keep me fascinated for ages
