First lambs of the year

The first lambs of the year have arrived in the field next to my house this week
....always a welcome sight

Susie we had the first on Sunday last too. The ewes lamb at the farm and they are added to the field each day . The ones in the photograph are newborns.

I look forward to the new lambs every year and am the unofficial shepherdess watching over them for trouble .

We just need the sun to sort itself out then everyone will be smiling instead of grumbling

They wear little plastic macs in N wales. Do these ?

...no PD they belong to a terrible farmer who wouldn't bother with such things. He has only just started lambing near the house, he used to leave the ewes in the field and I often found dead newborn lambs in the morning
