In Britain it is usually served with custard or brandy sauce. Apparently American custard is different to British custard; you could try it with thick cream or plain vanilla icecream

Another favourite for Christmas are mince pies. At one time they contained minced (ground) meat, hence the name, and also fruit & spices, but now they are almost all fruit, with just a token bit of suet to add richness
I gather that one thing Brits miss when they move abroad is marmalade for breakfast, which is basically orange jam
