Re: Gertie
The other dogs are soooooo much better thank you Nom, they just didn't want Megan around at all, but they are pretty good with Gertie. Strange isn't it. I think it was because she came in all guns blazing and too in their face, and I know her constant noise upset them too.
This one is the opposite and very calm, quiet and respectful to her elders, so I guess they think that's how it should be, and they are much more relaxed with her.
However, I have just this minute come back from her first veterinary check up and it's not good news. She has a heart murmur. At the moment they don't know the cause. It can be just a juvenile thing she will grow out of, or it could be a structural problem and they can't tell without scanning her. So I had to make a decision.
1. Return her to her breeder.
2. Wait and see if it gets better/worse.
3. Get the scan done so I know what I'm dealing with.
I decided I would rather know the truth and learn, rather than sit and worry about her for the next few months.
I love this little dog already, warts and all, so she isn't going back to the breeder.
She is booked in for her scan this Friday morning. They won't anaesthetise her, just shave her little chest.
Keep her in your thoughts on Friday if you can please.
