What would have been a better time?
The time the referendum was called was as good as any and, had our glorious government seen fit to make preparations straight away for our forthcoming leaving, Brexit could have progressed with the minimum of disruption.
Moreover, the majority of the voting population made it quite clear that they wanted to leave the EU. Surely, you cannot accuse them all of being insufficiently aware of the consequences and, indeed, benefits. After all, they were extensively discussed well before the vote.
