Re: End of an Era - Midlands Co-ops to close
I stand corrected. To be more precise concerning the origins of the Co-op...............Re: End of an Era - Midlands Co-ops to close
The high street is changing, you only have to look at what's happened with Jessops the camera people, the trading name and certain parts of the business (mostly the stock I would imagine) have been bought by Peter Jones but the stores on the high streets will disappear.Re: End of an Era - Midlands Co-ops to close
Good point Losos, the high street is changing as are many aspects of our lives, thanks to the internet & the whirlwind technological advances in communication & commerce in particular. Mere mortals such as myself are being swept along by the seat of our pants trying to make sense of it all.Re: End of an Era - Midlands Co-ops to close
We never had co-ops over here but I remember we had lots of well established shops when I was a boy, there was 'The Home and Colonial" "The Monument Creamery" "Liptons" "The Maypole" "Findlater's" and many more, all gone now. I actually worked in a branch of The Home and Colonial on a messenger bike for about six months.Thread Tools | |
