Now my place isn't dirty but I like to have a chance to wash the throws and hoover through before people descend on us, so I am not keen on people just turning up. Doesn't stop them doing it though ! And then they moan about sitting in dog hairRe: Unannounced visitors ......
Re: Unannounced visitors ......
My wife comes from a large family, but all her Sisters phone before they drop in, the one brother left in Dublin drives a taxi and drops in when he’s in the area for a chat and a cup of tea, he never bothers to phone, the rest who live in different parts of the country always ring first. We do get people we know dropping in out of the blue every now and then but we don’t mind that as long as they use common sense and know when to leave. My dear old Granny used to have a no nonsense way of getting rid of folks who overstayed their welcome she’d calmly say “If I was in your house I’d be gone home long ago” a bit blunt but it always worked a treat.Thread Tools | |
