Talk to Yourself
I should be very capable, according to the newspaper, because I talk to myself a lot.
Researchers at Bangor University have decided it is good for our brain to talk out loud to ourselves. It helps the brain to absorb material and improves performance.
They tested people with written instructions, and found they took on board more information when they read them out loud, rather than just to themselves.
Dr. Mari-Beffa says: "This can probably explain why sports professionals talk to themselves, saying things like, "come on" to help them stay focused.
So now you know. It's good to talk to yourself.
