What are the song lyrics that always catches your ear......not whole songs, nothing to do with whether you like the tune etc......just great stand out lines that really says it all in one shot..
Example
Buddy Holly from Not Fade Away
Lyrics : ' Your Love is bigger than a Cadillac
The Verve from Drugs Don't Work
Lyrics: ' All this talk of getting older/ Is getting Me down my Love/Like a cat in a bag, waiting to Drown/ This time I'm Coming Down'
And bill holdings advertise products that nobody needs
While angry from Manchester writes to complain about
All the repeats on T.V.
And computer terminals report some gains
On the values of copper and tin
While American businessmen snap up Van Goghs
For the price of a hospital wing
Nothing Ever Happens by Justin Currie. Del Amitri (1990)
Those lyrics from Alan Parsons are beautiful, really powerful.
A lot of song lyrics , like those, are pure poetry and a lot are clever , intelligent incisive commentry or observation.... All are brilliant and all are inspiring or thought provoking.
Here's the Foo fighters...
'And I wonder/When I sing along with You/If everything could feel this real Forever/If Everything could be this good again.....
We've all felt like that with our partners at times!!
