It goes on every summer.

Nothing is done to prevent it, so it will continue for ever and ever, Amen.

All the more reason to start bouldering around the edges then.

That's exactly what our local council did here. It works.

Not the ideal answer, though.

The best answer is to prevent the Pikeys from coming here every summer.

In order to come here from Ireland, they must board a ferry, caravans, lock, stock and barrel. Hardly unnoticeable!

After we are properly out of the EU, we can decide who can and can't come here by imposing the requirement for visas. We know who they are. We know why they come here every year. We know the damage they do and their criminal activities. Don't let them in. OUR decision.

Re: Travellers

In field gateways that are not often used, the farmers round here either lay boulders, sawn off telegraph poles, or dig a trench.
Thing is, EZ said the Common is huge, not just a little village green type thing, so I can't see anyone could put enough boulders/poles/trenches right round the entire area.

I'm told they, and others, are heading for the Manchester area.

Re: Travellers

I think a deep gulley on the road side of the common and a mound on the inner side making it impossible to get vehicles over. Us locals await the wisdom of the local council!! Now that's a worrying thought!!

Late with the news. They've already been here. Withing a mile or two of where we are.

Some are still here. They are eventually moved on, having destroyed their temporary camp site, only to set up again a few miles away.

This is not a very good answer, in fact I'm sure the Pikeys just laugh about it.

Exactly the same problem as the boat migrants then JBR!
Caused by the same thing, lack of will on the part of our politicians
to take the difficult, ( for them!) decisions needed !!

Do you suppose our politicians are afraid of the left-wing press and the do-gooders?
