Re: COVID-19: 2,948 new cases on Monday

Where do the 10 million people under new rules live?

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-englan...eporting-story

Across the UK, almost 10,000,000 people are currently facing some form of additional restrictions.

That's roughly one in seven people in the country.

This includes:
  • 7,1000,000 people in England, about 13% of its population
  • 1,800,00 million people in Scotland (32%)
  • 422,000 people in Wales (13%)
  • At least 411,000 people in Northern Ireland (22%)

In England, all of the restrictions are in the North or the Midlands.

Currently, a third of people in the North are facing restrictions.
With the prospect of government abandonment - no tests and no vaccine - the prospects for winter for most people are rapidly becoming dire .....

I'm stocking up with extra tinned food etc every time I shop now.

I wonder why the new restrictions are always brought in for after the weekends?
It's almost as if the Government are purposely wanting folk to meet up beforehand.
Call me cynical, but it doesn't make sense.
Do it on Fridays if you really want to keep people from mingling.

That makes much more sense, Tess.

https://coronavirus.data.gov.uk/

UK Summary

People tested positive

Daily 4,322

Total 385,936
That's not unexpected but still profoundly shocking .....

By Monday, total cases could be 400,000 .....
