If a delivery man comes, I can tell him where to put the parcel, from wherever I am.
I even have a record of how he handled the parcel - in case of any damage.
About once a month, I delete any recordings not required.
I'm not trying to sell it, but it works fine for me!
Oh! & the one in the garden records all of the visiting animals which jump in for a look around - deer, cats, squirrels, pikeys, etc
You have given me a brilliant idea! I had thought of trying to have a cctv set up for my garden, to keep an eye on the dog, or to check the gate was closed before letting her out. There is a security light (attached to the shed), which she can trigger, and I’d thought of trying an electrician to wire such equipment into the same feed.
But now, a cheap video/audio doorbell would be the better and cheaper solution, and I could even install it myself. I have a wooden pergola/arch from the shed to the fence, which has the honey suckle and rose growing on it, but I wonder if it will take this device. If I attach it to the shed to face the gate, it would be in full force of the sun.
