So Sarah darlin' since I've been there, done that and bought the 'T' shirt, when do you start down the same route??? - make appointment with your GP and get a referral to local Hospital to see Orthopaedic Consultant Surgeon.Re: Sciatica
Re: Sciatica
I have had lower lumber discs and osteoarthritis for years and sciatica nerve in my left leg. Regular over the counter meds. don't help. Have been going to a specialist and he gives me shots in the lower part of my spine and has done wonders for the pain in that part of my body. The shots last 5-6 weeks and then I can return. He is now going to measure me for a waist brace and I hope to God this will relieve me for a much longer time. I also get a shot in my shoulder for the right arm (arthritis) and it lasts the same amount of time--but --decided to have an operation and the pain is gone. Physical therapy, has helped, walk the tread mill, do floor exercises and stretching, apply ice packs and or hot packs, also muscle relaxants (prescription) do help. The big cure (prescription) is VICODIN...3 times a day. I offer this only if you can do it. Good luckRe: Sciatica
I have sciatica off and on. A friend who is a retired physiotherapist told me to do the exercise where you lie on the floor and swing both legs together over to the opposite side of your body, 10 times on each side and I find that does help. I also take ibuprofen but I don't have really severe pain as yet. I also find regular walking helps. Very useful website here:Re: Sciatica
