Not so!!! - there were several MPs (all Tories) who were caught committing misdemeanours during Major's premiership - some of them had their hands in the pocket of Mohammed Al-Fayed and were being paid by him for asking questions (on his behalf) in the 'house' and it was only when the news broke that some of them as junior ministers were forced to resign. One of them (David Willetts) is even now a Cabinet Minister in Cameron's cabinet.
I don't think anyone wants things swept under the carpet UJ just keeping it to recent times means keeping us concentrating on what they are doing now there is a danger in looking back too much we may miss what is happening now. Certainly don't forget but bringing it into every thread dilutes the message IMO.
