I'd definitely go for Punch a Coworker Monday's.

Re: I don't think they thought this one through

Would YOU admit something like that?

I worked a job for many years where the women were constantly in competition with each other. Let's see who has the best hairstyle today or let's see who has the best outfit today, etc. Because it's true, when women go out on the town, they're actually dressing up to compete with other women more than anything else. We don't care what the men think because men are easy creatures to capture... we have what they want and if they're willing and able, regardless of what you look like or how you dress, you can take your pick of which one to drag home with you. No, we dress up to compete with the other women we know will be there. We have to be prettier than that girl standing over in the corner and we have to be thinner than that girl at the buffet. We want the men to pay attention to us, not them.

That's really what it's all about.

Of course, now that I'm older, I don't give a rat's ass what anyone thinks of me, but I remember those competition days very well. And I have no shame in admitting I took home a LOT of gorgeous men.

Oooh Linda. That post of mine was good therapy. I really like your post.
But being older does NOT mean you are less attractive. But I totally agree with your statement. It comes to a point when we really don't give a damn, what others think. We can just be ourselves, and hold our heads up high. I think that in itself is a VERY attractive quality, to be cherished.

Re: I don't think they thought this one through

Agreed.

I hate getting older, though. I just turned 53 this month. But despite all that, I still have no desire to change my appearance with plastic surgeries or spend tons of money buying products promising to make me look younger (because none of that stuff really works anyway) or wearing a boatload of makeup to try and make myself look more attractive. I think that just makes women look even older.

I plan to just grow old gracefully. If "growing old" and "graceful" can be used in the same sentence, that is. Because, let's face it, there's nothing graceful about it, lol.
