I worked a job for many years where the women were constantly in competition with each other. Let's see who has the best hairstyle today or let's see who has the best outfit today, etc. Because it's true, when women go out on the town, they're actually dressing up to compete with other women more than anything else. We don't care what the men think because men are easy creatures to capture... we have what they want and if they're willing and able, regardless of what you look like or how you dress, you can take your pick of which one to drag home with you. No, we dress up to compete with the other women we know will be there. We have to be prettier than that girl standing over in the corner and we have to be thinner than that girl at the buffet. We want the men to pay attention to
us, not them.
That's really what it's all about.
Of course, now that I'm older, I don't give a rat's ass what
anyone thinks of me, but I remember those competition days very well. And I have no shame in admitting I took home a LOT of gorgeous men.
