Re: Who is God?

f there is no god Hu99 then why do you say that god lives in our fears and guilt? I also fail to see what luck and/or being fortunate has to do with anything related to a god or gods. As for there being only people - well we only need to take a look around the world we live in to counter that statement.
PS - I am not promoting or dismissing the exisence or otherwise of a god/s.

There is no God (or god, if you wish). There are only people. Some luckier than you and some less fortunate than you. God lives in our fears and guilt.
What fears and guilt?? There's always someone somewhere to try and help, you're never alone.

Re: Who is God?

How anyone can believe in a God as spoken about in the bible is beyond my ken. My God is the laws of nature..........physics and chemistry combined with all that is good in the human psyche.

A lot of nature attributed to a god and 'history/fiction' written a few hundred years after the possible event.
The only god is nature not the man made God.
I treat religion as another form of politics and enjoy life.

Re: Who is God?

I think it depends on what you want God for, if you need help you call on him, maybe he helps maybe not but it's better than believing there's no help coming. If you want to believe in how the world came to be, best believe in the big bang theory. Myself I believe in a kindness who tries to help but doesn't always succeed, but I don't believe in religion that's man made for men.

Re: Who is God?

hazel, you refer to the masculine tense many times, maybe God has feminine tendencies, who knows, ladies always seem more forgiving.
