Let's see him wriggle out of that one ...
To be fair, I wasn't expecting it. One minute the doc was scraping tartar off the back of my front teeth, the next he sprayed some foul tasting liquid in my mouth and stuck a needle in my gum without so much as a by your leave. He did a bit of drilling somewhere in me gob and stuffed some amalgam of some sort in the hole he'd just drilled. Will have to have a peek later on and see where it is.

Re: Last to post wins

Be careful ... don't mess. Don't bite on it or brush it for a bit.

I had a filling done just before Christmas (numbed) .. and after three days I only touched it with my tongue and a piece fell off.
I went back to the dentists and he touched it and half my tooth collapsed .. it had cracked when he drilled it to do the first bit and had been hanging on.
He didn't numb that repair ... probably still hung over after Christmas.

Hope the repair was under guarantee?

My unexpected filling cost me fifty-six quid so I hope that is g'teed.

Re: Last to post wins

Ah ... I can help you out there.

If it's NHS it sounds like you dropped in the treatment bracket I did (mine too was £56.00).
You are covered for 2 months on from the date of treatment.

Band 2: £56.30 covers all treatment included in Band 1, plus additional treatment, such as fillings, root canal treatment and removing teeth (extractions).

If, within two calendar months of completing a course of treatment, you need more treatment from the same or lower charge band – such as another filling – you don't have to pay anything extra.

Now I've been good .... you can scamper off to bed.

Re: Last to post wins

Morti, I feel obliged to confess now.

I had a long phone chat with his dentist, and explained the trouble we have with him and his mate Tezza, on LTP.
The dentist was very obliging and said he would pretend to do a filling but secretly search his brain while he was in the chair.
Sadly, he couldn't find it.

Amazing isn't it ... the lengths we go to to help out our guys here.

And do they ever thank you? No.

I have noticed that too, Mort. Ungrateful so-and-so's.
Nevertheless, we must soldier on.
They will thank us one day, maybe we'll even get a mention in their will, you never know.
