I think it's fun to say 'cool' or rather 'yeah cool'
I tend not to do it in public but sometimes want to, just to cause a reaction.

Actually, I tend to do a lot of things slightly tongue in cheek and enjoy any looks of puzzlement

Me too !!!!!

I dont take speech very seriously and love to play with it...
Now in french it can be even more funny...
A couple of years ago I asked a 80 year old lady if she had enjoyed dancing with the young boys in bed .....the look on her face was pure magic.....
We were talking about a party here in the main square one summers evening , and I mixed summer for bed ...well they sound simular...to me

Re: Words you don't like - nothing blasphemous

Paul O'Grady used to drive me mad on his show when he said 'give it up' and 'let me hear ya!'

I agree with many of the suggestions, and would include

'can I get a coffee?'

'meet you first thing' (commonly used in Home and Away when arranging to meet the next day. I could never find that 'time' on my clock so am confused by it. I would shout out to the TV 'so when ARE you going to get there?)

'Stumbled upon' to describe how a person, usually a dog walker(!) finds a dead body. I always visualise them actually stumblingupon them.

Overuse of the word 'essentially'. Hate it hate it hate it.

Using the word 'bemused'. I know it's probably correct but it just sounds wrong.

Definitely the upward inflection at the end of sentences.

'Your' instead of 'you are'

'His' instead of 'he's'

I read Facebook posts with growing irritation at times.

Falling pregnant .... how did that happen then? Stumbled down a large pothole did they?

Should of instead of should have.

And if I've not already mentioned it, O.M.G. How I hate that, whether it's just spoken as initials or voiced very slowly in a melodramatic way.
