Re: Robert's Poems (Part 2)

Thank you
Haiku?

Impressed
you bet

So kind
allatime

Inspired
so tired

Ideas coming
mind numbing

Bring poems back
on track

free expression
soul bearing sessions

away too long
returning strong

Thanks GUMBUD for your positive encouragement. I write mainly indulgently for my own amusement but am heartily pleased to get a response to my ramblings.

Re: Robert's Poems (Part 2)

I know nothing of the different types/forms of poetry but I do know I really enjoy reading all the works of our Over50s poets here ..... keep it going everyone!

Re: Robert's Poems (Part 2)

This may not be to many peoples taste but
I wrote it so I'll note it

Make what you will of it.

Hope springs eternal
in our fragile little lives
Heaven now seems closer,
Seen with our own eyes
Our lives had plans and purpose
Not a random series of events
We were loved and nurtured
Shaped with pure intents
We will change forever,
in the twinkling of an eye
gone the bonds that tethered
with chains then tossed aside
Heaven is like an answer
that we’ll never find
until we know the question
posed by an enquiring mind.

nice one RJ - I think many of us can relate to those thoughts and the emotions generated.

Re: Robert's Poems (Part 2)

THankyou Mags & Gumbud for your thoughtful comments.

And now for a rubbish ditty.

Mildred was not blessed with good looks
Describing her requires great tact
It’s best to keep in her goodbooks
I assure you that this is a fact
Starting with her oversized nose
Just left of the front of her face
It precedes her whoever she goes
Spreading snot all over the place
Her eyebrows meet in the centre
Just under her thinning hairline
Note her wobbly dentures
She forgets to insert them sometimes
Her hair is alright on the edges
But missing completely on top
Its akin to some unkempt hedges
She buys wigs from the local pound shop
Who is this awful person
I made it all up in my head
Its just my rather crude version
I was bored so I invented Mildred

Full range of emotions explored. A true poet.
