anything to do with it?
It is cheaper due to AZ's policy to supply the jabs on a costs only
basis in order to make it affordable to poorer nations, one can
only surmise this does not sit well with so called BIG PHARMA !!

Just asking??
Could be. They are influential bodies and must hate to be undercut.

Re: Astra zeneca and EU ??

In my opinion the only entity that will come out of this whole vaccine debacle smelling of roses will be AZ because of its altruism and philanthropy for supplying a vaccine at cost. All of the other pharmaceutical companies will be seen for what they're suspected to be - money grubbing barstewards. I say this because I know that it costs an absolute fortune to develop, test, get approval for, and market a drug or vaccine. Besides which, for every drug or vaccine that actually gets approval for use, many 100s never make it outside of the laboratories and their development costs have to be covered by the ones that do.

I probably would but won't get a jab before June or July anyway.

Maybe holds true for the UK. What we need is our own production facilities. It's a shame that the German firm BionTech developed a vaccine and Germany is the last place on earth to get it. Today Merkel confirmed plans to build these and become independent.

I think the AZ Model of subsidising production of vaccines with the
profits of its other pharmaceutical products should become the norm
Percy in the interests of global health??
Or one day a really nasty disease will come along and 75% of the
Population won't get access to the vaccines required !!
Maybe this is the plan to eradicate poverty ?LOL!

So you ignore the medical experts and take notice of politicians
like Merkel and Macron Dachs??? Umm?

her decision to lock down within 2days of making it !!

To the world, to non-EU states but hardly to Germany.

What gives you that idea? I follow the advice of my chosen medical experts. I don't need politicians for such a purely private decision.

So the German firm BionTech developed a vaccine, but Germany exported the vaccines to non-EU countries and not Germany.

Why would Germany do that? Was it due to pressure from Brussels?
