I was wondering why you were so quiet lately RJ, I’ll be waiting in the wings for you to bounce back with your usual wit and vigour.

will this help?

There’s nothing wrong wiv me thinkin
I can recall days of long, long past
It’s the present that gets a bit wobbly
Like what did I have for this weeks breakfasts?

There is stuff filed away in there
That is still clear after 70 years
So why can’t I remember the cats name
Or the neigbour I keep calling ‘yes dear’

I ave me own theory ‘bout this stuff
We can only file away so much
And when the brainbox is full to the top
Then all of the rest turns to dust!

I thought sabbaticals were only on a Sunday wot about the rest of the weaknesses?

Re: Roberts Poems (part 3)

Robert’s Poems has reached it’s sell-by date , over one thousand contributions following my first post nearly two years ago.

Watch out for my new enterprise.

The King is dead, long live the King.

Re: Roberts Poems (part 3)

Any sign of Uncle Vivian's return yet RJ?, an old relative living (just about she's 98) in the USA promised to send me on a photo of him taken back in the 1930's, if I get it I'll put it up here for you.

Re: Roberts Poems (part 3)

At ninety, my uncle Arthur still has his marbles
Full of fun he is a walking talking marvel
Now ninety five of him I’ve grown fond.
I wish I could wave a magic wand
To keep him fit and strong and well
His life grows harder, last week he fell

I want him to go on for ever
I know its very selfish of me
Will I have my wish, no never
In time he’ll sail the chrystal sea

To meet again his darling Winnie
Taken from him
Too soon
