IMHO Boris is using the right tactics so far and is putting the EU on the back foot all the time while retaining the moral high ground.
Some of the UK factories have already producing like Novavax for example but you're right in that it can't come soon enough.
Roll on the VMIC starting production.
Even Pfizer are warning the EU that what they're doing is wrong I see.
"Pfizer accuses Brussels of holding back Covid vaccine effort"
"“It has caused a significant administrative burden and some uncertainty,” he said. “Ultimately what we would like our colleagues to do is to focus on making and distributing the vaccine.”
Pfizer explained yesterday that its vaccine, which it developed in partnership with Germany’s Biontech, requires some 280 components which are sourced from 86 suppliers in 19 countries, including Britain."
"Every batch of vaccine that is made in Belgium starts its life in a Pfizer plant in the United States, which produces pieces of genetic material, known as DNA plasmids. These are transported to Belgium and effectively serve as a template for the active ingredient that is produced and packaged in Puurs.
“We are a global manufacturing company with a very sophisticated global supply chain . . . Every one of those suppliers is important to our supply chain and every one of them plays a role,” a spokeswoman for Pfizer said."
