I agree Foxy, problem is that all journalists are trying to prove themselves to be the best, so reporting it with minimal evidence causes problems.
It seems that they were reported by a neighbour, but the police had asked the public to help so maybe it was a genuine report.
After seeing the couple read put their written speech, on the news, it looks like they may be after some compensation.....or maybe an Oscar!

Oops. Sorry it don’t work.
It was a way to bring down a drone.

Hi

If anyone had treated me like that I would be out to get them.

It is absolutely despicable.

Re: Gatwick Airport: Drone sightings cause delays

I can't believe that these airports didn't have anti drone measures in place. There are a several Australian Companies that specialise in this sort of protection. I am sure they will sell you something.

But perhaps it was all a mistake

Re: Gatwick Airport: Drone sightings cause delays

I still don't get this Bruce.
I read that a neighbour reported the chap simply because they had seen him flying a model helicopter from his driveway.

But as I said pages ago, if it wasn't a drone, what was it?

If Police, bystanders, the Army, and Airport workers all thought they saw and heard a Drone, how can so many people be wrong? There was either something in the sky or there wasn't!

It doesn't make any sense to me. Is it a cover up, or distraction for something else?

Well at least one of the "sightings" turned out to be the lights on a crane.

If that is so Ray, I am astounded to think so many seemingly 'professional' people could ALL make the same mistake, aren't you? Unbelievable!
Do lights on a crane make the same noise as a drone?
