Last night Ingham in N Queensland received 500mm of rain in 12 hours
Meanwhile an emergency warning has been issued for an out-of-control fire at Hepburn Springs near Daylesford, north-west of Melbourne, as Victorian firefighters battle difficult weather conditions across the state.
Definitely very odd at the moment I can't remember anything like it. I mean we get floods, we get drought and we get bush fires but not of this intensity. January was an incredible month for breaking records.
It's a big country I am a very long way from any danger, (even a Tsunami according to council maps)
When I am travelling I have a couple of apps on my phone that warn of road stoppages/danger and bushfires but the fire and floods are 1000 to 2000km away from me - It would be like an Italian worrying about your snow.

It's a bit cold here, -7. Luckily I discovered a couple of access roads that run parallel with the lake paths that are fairly clear of snow so dog walking wasn't as bad as I thought it would be this morning.
The frozen snow is hurting Bailie's feet though so we didn't stay out long.
