Hi Arthur, yes my cholestral has always been very good. Before I went on Statins it was only 4.2, but because I am Diabetic Type I, they said I had to go on Cholestral pills, which brought me down to 3.1, and as soon as I came off them I went back to 4.2, but now all of a sudden it has shot up to 5.1, but my GP says that's probably because I have been under a lot of stress and trauma from my surgery I had done in October. My Diabetes was very bad as well, but I think I have that under control now.Re: Statins

Forgot to mention that now my surgery has tests done on liver function, kidney function, thyroid and other things I can't remember now and the Doctor told me that he checks results of liver function for indications of damage caused by statins, which is encouraging as a friend of mine was rushed into hospital a few years ago and that problem was renal failure due to damage by his statins.
