Seems to be more of a 'boys thing' by these replies?

Re: Dr Who

My favourite Drs were William Hartnell, Jon Pertwee and David Tennent. Don't like Matt Smith at all. It originally was a really scary programme - I think it has lost some of it's impact over the years because there are so many more SciFi programmes available now.

Re: Dr Who

I watched the history of the doctors recently and enjoyed it but when I attempted to watch the 50th anniversary episode the terrible directing put me right off. If it wasn't enough for the phone box to be hoisted in the air by a helicopter right at the beginning the bloody doctor had to end up dangling from beneath it! What? It wasn't physically possible as he was facing the wrong way to do so after ending up outside in the first place. Just like the Americans film makers ruin the moment in that they inject rubbish in to a scene just for the hell of it - here we go again. To a person like myself who analyses everything it really grated on my nerves. I gave up soon after that as poor directing looked like it was the order of the day. Very amateurish I thought but no-doubt the storyline was a good one. Used to be a big fan at one time but I dunno seems I have outgrown it now - my loss.

I enjoyed it up until Jon Pertwee left and have never watched an episode since.

I was awoken by my TV turning itself on at 6.50am Sunday morning so I could watch the Day of The Doctor on the ABC.

Actually it didn't awaken me because my clock radio starts at 6.30am but it frightened the life out of me as usual when the TV turns itself on for a preset program.

I think this is only the second time my TV has been on in the morning - the other time being 12 September 2001

Re: Dr Who

I stop watching Dr Who when Matt Smith took over as I said I didn't like the look of him - don't understand myself sometimes.

I then by mistake watched a Dr Who with him in it and thought oh he isn't so bad after all, and I am now catching up with all the episodes he has made via sky anytime.

Watched the 50th anniversary episode and quite enjoyed it as long as you don't look too deep into what is going on.
