Thank you cranberry, Alan and Joy!Wanted to add that I'm sick of being treated as if I'm a child...to be seen and not heard. Or told to shut up.
One of the ladies who shouted me down is a nice friend but she has a way of talking to people that is generally (IMO) asking for a slap! She's bossy, shouts you down, always says 'No' when I'm saying something, and at the end of the group talk I asked why a spare water butt was going in the greenhouse and she replied (always in a sharp tone!) 'it's going in there, it's not in anyone's way.'
At which point I walked away again.
And she has the concentration span of a gnat! Oh she drives me mad, when I'm trying to talk to her. Her eyes are always elsewhere, and I wonder how much she's bothered listening to.
