Hello everyone dry, bright and cold here with temperatures expected to plummet below freezing tonight ....brrrr!

Shopping and cleaning done this morning and just a bit of ironing to do this afternoon. We are off to Cardiff by train for the day tomorrow, I love the atmosphere there at this time of the year, the lights, market stalls, decorated shop windows, ice rink ..... and spacious shopping malls to retreat into out of the cold.

I think my hatred of cooking stems from when I was a wee girl being forced to cut up all the veggies for the soup, prepare the potatoes - peeling them - and help pluck feathers of the hen, when Mum got one (from our fruiterer), also helped pull the inners out of it! I hated it - I was only about 5 and that continued to my teens and I then refused!! I let my Dad and big brother do the cooking when Mum died, then John carried out when Dad died - when John died - I did start to cook again for myself but I honestly hate it!!

Good for ou Barry!! And I bet you are an excellent cook!!
