Re: The Italian cruise ship disaster.
It was reported on BBC Breakfast news last night that the reason the ship run aground was because the Captain was trying to 'show off' to someone ashore. The ship was, reportedly more than four miles, FOUR MILES!!! off course and was far too close to the island, irrespective of whether, as the Captain says, the rocks were not marked on his chart. If that was so, then his charts were equally inaccurate and he should have given the island a lot more offing and sea room.Re: The Italian cruise ship disaster.
It is sad to hear that another cruise liner has gone down, and that people have died or been hurt when they were surposed to be on a relaxing holiday.Re: The Italian cruise ship disaster.
Rescuers have now recovered 11 bodies and are now searching for 24 missing people.Re: The Italian cruise ship disaster.
Re: The Italian cruise ship disaster.
Tonight on Ch.4 at 8pm. This is a programme exploring how and why the Costa Concordia went down. Can't think it will be much of a programme, it takes the professionals years to give an answer and just as long for the insurance people to pay out.
