Yes it was, I'm getting quite good at dodging being tossed on the scrap heap.

That's just great!

I've been made redundant 6 times since 1984 and it does nothing for your self-confidence so it's REALLY nice to see someone getting some good luck, even if it's not me!

Silly though this May sound, I do genuinely feel good if someone gets some good like in life.

Made my day Agent - all the VERY best to you!! stevmk2

You're not alone Steve. I love to hear that people are getting on in life. You can't grudge anyone a nice living.

I'm feeling more and more fortunate. I've only ever had two jobs. How lucky am I?

Re: Job Application

I've had no response at all to my job application so I've written that off as usual.

I must say that all the upbeat stuff on the TV News seems to be at odds with what I see and I am seriously wondering where this data is coming from.

I have 7 job alerts set up across the internet's job search sites and every, single one of them is coming up with highly-skilled types of jobs which. in this immediate area does not match the unemployed population.

Equally, the figures regarding those unemployed do not appear to include the long-term unemployed, especially those that are unskilled or semi-skilled so where have those figures actually gone?

With a General Election not that far off I can't help but wonder if juggling facts and figures to present what you want to present is being used but then, are the Coalition Government correct in their assumption that we don't notice? stevmk2

Re: Job Application

I was wondering about any outcome.

That's such a shame for you. Keep trying.

That's kind of you Jazzi.

I know now that my chances of getting another job are just above zero now but I still keep trying. stevmk2

I've binned the application data I'd kept Jazzi - Reed didn't even have the good manners to respond to my enquiries.

Nothing new there though - ghastly company to deal with.

I'll have to keep looking.

I have noticed that all my job alerts are simply turning up highly skilled position or management jobs and that's been the case for weeks now.

I like the way a certain well-known politician used the term "full employment" very recently when it's actually 74%.

The same person said that the deficit had been "halved" when the reduction's apparently 40%.

There's more: - he proposes that Union Strike Votes thresholds should not be below 50% yet 71% of By-election wins during this parliament were under that same threshold. stevmk2

Re: Job Application

Anything going in the new Morrisons opened up in MK? Or is that too far from you? Mind you, they're probably recruited internally.

As I need, keep trying.
