I do agree with you. I have decided that if I reach 80, I'm going to take up all the things that are considered bad for me, smoking, drinking, casual sex and bacon sarnies.

Aged about 14 or 15 .. after a hard week playing truant from school it was relaxing having a pernod and black, or two, at the pub.
Bit embarrassing though when your teachers start using your local and you bump into them.

Had a sip of dad's beer and found it gross. Probably about 15, not sure.

My first proper drink was at my first job when I was about 16, whisky and dry (?). I remember crossing the road being very 'heady'

Used to drink lager/lime, then just lager, vodka/orange, brandy/babycham - only ever managed four of those in one session

When I'm out now I love Martini/ lemonade....so refreshing.
Also, have brandy in the house but after going through a period of relying on it, I decided never to drink alone again.
So now, it's there to help alleviate stomach pains or something.

Can't remember when I last had a drink.. probably about a month ago.

When we were considered old enough (and well mannered enough) to join the adults for dinner we were allowed a glass of wine - think it may have been watered down for us - so in my case that would be when I was about 8 yrs old. Didn't try spirits until I was around 15 or 16.

Never really did like alcohol, supped it when I was eighteen to be part of the gang and had a few sore heads the next day. I was usually the driver so it was a good excuse to stick to orange juice, lemonade or coke. These days I enjoy a half of lager and an occasional glass of wine, mainly with a meal, but I hate the smell of any short, makes me feel sick, except Jack Daniels (Usually reserved for the New Year Celebrations).....

At the age of17-18 it gave me untold confidence..
